“In space, no one will hear you scream,” said the poster for “Alien, the eighth passenger” (1979). A formula that applies to the space thriller Dead Space, which became one of the most cult horror games of the PS3/Xbox 360 era when it was released in 2008. 2023 will mark its 15th anniversary, and with it a remake premier game is shaping up to open the year on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.

After the brilliant remakes of the first three installments of Resident Evil, Capcom could not miss the highly appreciated 4th episode, which has become legendary since its release on GameCube in 2005. The release of Final Fantasy VII Remake in 2020 had the effect of a bomb on PS4, with confinements which served as a pretext to dive back into the adventures of Cloud and his band. Beautifully redesigned, this episode nevertheless ended in frustration, because we had to wait for another episode to know the rest. Good news, winter 2023 should put an end to this wait, since Square Enix promises a 2nd episode called Rebirth. However, this will only be a transition, since a third and final episode is already in the works.

Paused due to the war in Ukraine, the development of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has resumed with the aim of releasing it in the first half of 2023. It must be said that the GSC Game World studio is based in Kiev and that the deadlines initially announcing a release this year have been pushed around. The war with Russia also had the logical effect of changing the title of this game from being called Heart of Chernobyl to Heart of Chornobyl in order to uproot its narrative from Ukraine.

A real surprise (in a good way) of the year 2019, Jedi: Fallen Order could not remain without a sequel. And 2023 should mark the return of Cal Kestis, the hero of this opus who had learned to master the Force after an epic quest. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor marks its return as part of a story set five years after the events of Fallen Order. Cal, still hunted by the Empire, will have to survive against new dangers. The Electronic Arts title is planned for PS5, Xbox Series and PC
